Spiral Biotech, Inc. System combines a high-resolution line scanner and specialized Windows-based software to count microbial colonies on agar plates. The Colony Image Analysis (CIA) software locates and analyzes each colony and provides the plate and/or sample count.

Features:

  • Counts spiral, pour, and spread plates, petrifilms, and slit-to-agar air sampler plates
  • Colonies are analyzed for overlap and size, and problem areas are rejected
  • Threshold parameters can be preset in the software for a variety of transparent and opaque media/microbe combinations
  • An image of the scanned plate and a colony size distribution chart are displayed
  • Data can be imported into other programs
  • Conforms to GLP guidelines
  • Each system includes a Pentium computer
