Comparative Study On Secondary Contamination Risk: Milliflex Oasis® System vs. Conventional Filtration Method

Accurate testing results are critical when it comes to product safety from microbial contamination. Therefore, it is imperative that QC labs are aware of the potential risks throughout the workflow, including secondary contamination from the testing environment.
In this comparative study, two different platforms for the membrane filtration of microorganisms in quality control are evaluated. Conventional filtration using a manifold system is compared to that of the Milliflex Oasis® system. Both instruments are utilized for the bioburden analysis of liquids. This study aimed to test for false positive results and assess the risk of secondary contamination during the transfer of the membrane onto the agar plate. Explore the findings of the study, and see how the Milliflex Oasis® system compared to the standard membrane filtration system.
