Engineering
In-depth knowledge of the products to be processed/manufactured and of packaging methods in general is the essential pre-requisite to designing complete processing and lines developed by customizing different production requirements and offering a “turn-key” solution which also includes backup and technical service. IMA has the core skills, experience and expertise needed to design and manufacture solutions to be able to deal with complex and large scale customized projects and meet special end-user’s requirements.
IMA provides:
- Comprehensive offer of in-house manufactured packaging machinery
- Knowledge of machine integration and line functioning logic
- Dedicated staff for project management
- Facility for equipment integration on its premises
- Central connection of utilities
- Line FAT execution experience
- Appropriate documentation for line qualification
- Test of centralized advisory service (such as SCADA) that provides pharmaceutical partners with a unique reference point.
Project management
The size of each Division, combined with the core skills, dedicated Product Managers and broad expertise acquired over the years, make it possible to deal with complex and customized projects.
Each Division can manage large-scale projects and design and manufacture solutions to meet special end user requirements.
IMA can offer customers a close cooperation during the initial stages of the project development aimed at identifying the ideal technical solution and the equipment layout.
When any new project starts, project teams and team leaders are appointed to assign responsibilities to both IMA and the customer. When necessary, a detailed scope of work based on the customer‘s needs is developed and accurate URS (User Requirement Specifications) are issued.
The next step is to draft a detailed project schedule complete with resource allocations and timescales followed up by formal reports on schedule, progress and review meetings at IMA or at customers’ facility.
IMA has gained a vast experience through its activity and an intimate knowledge of machine integration and line functioning logic, thereby acquiring the necessary competence to ensure that end-user’s time to market deadlines are met.
Track & Trace solutions
The IMA Group produces packaging machines and units. Our scope is to integrate the technology required for the Track & Trace process into our packaging lines.
Track & Trace encoding and reading applications must take into account standards that are being gradually adopted by other countries; we have defined three implementation stages, drawn up according to client demands.
Stage 1: coding (the 2D codes) on all cartons and data collection inside a specific database, available at all production lines (minimum condition)
Stage 2: the same procedure will be applied to the downstream machines (bundling machine, case packer and palletizer). For instance, the bundle's code must be the same as the one that is on the carton and so on. Data collection must refer to every single production line.
Stage 3: data management and interaction between the production lines and ERP operating systems, such as SAP and others.
IMA Safe and IMA Life can supply any system relative to the proper cartons transfer and labelling and can integrate the printing and control systems to identify every single carton through DATAMATRIX code application
