Werner & Pfleiderer, Waeschle and Buss are leading suppliers in the field of plastics processing. The merged company will have attractive potential for an appreciation in value as a result of the leading position of these companies in expanding markets and the leverage of synergies, especially in consulting, sales, service and logistics. The new company is thus extremely well equipped for above-average growth. The current sales total of DEM 760 million is projected to rise to around DEM 1 billion over the next five years, accompanied by durable profit growth. With the industrial expertise of Georg Fischer and the financial backing of West Private Equity/WestLB, the new entity enjoys considerable potential for an appreciation in value. The target is for the company to become independent within 3-5 years, for example via a stock market launch. The COPERION Group will be headed by Dr Hans-Jörg Pfeiffer assisted by senior executives from Werner & Pfleiderer, Waeschle and Buss.

The new plastics processing group employs over 2,000 people. Its operational units consist of 18 companies and 35 sites throughout the world. Its main production sites are in Germany, Switzerland, the USA and India. It has a large number of distribution offices spread throughout the world and the merger will improve its already healthy market positions still further.
