CordenPharma To Invest In Mfg Line For Veterinary Drug Products

From DCAT Value Chain Insights (VCI)

CordenPharma, a contract development and manufacturing organization, plans to install a new manufacturing line dedicated for producing veterinary drug products at CordenPharma Plankstadt, its solid-dosage manufacturing facility located near Heidelberg, Germany. The line will be used to produce 500-kg scale batch sizes to supply a product for the veterinary health market. This new line is part of a production plant that is dedicated to veterinary drug products.

The expansion at CordenPharma Plankstadt results from a new, long-term custom manufacturing agreement for an animal health application, which the company recently signed. CordenPharma Plankstadt has supported the project over the last year and a half, from initial technology transfer and development activities to manufacturing of registration batches.

Work will commence in the second quarter of 2017, with a targeted mechanical completion by the second quarter of 2018. Commercial supply for the global launch campaign is planned to start in the second half of 2018.

The investment in CordenPharma Plankstadt is the latest of several announced investments made by CordenPharma during 2017, where further capacity expansion and capabilities were installed in CordenPharma Colorado, an active pharmaceutical ingredient manufacturing site, and CordenPharma Plankstadt.
