Coreflex Introduces the S-COR hose

Source: Coreflex LLC
The absolute best material to convey the widest array of products is Teflon. No material is non-aging and temperature rated 62º C (-80ºF) to + 204ºC (+400ºF). S-COR can be autoclaved; it can be S.I.P./C.I.P. cleaned.

Teflon® is the most desirable material.

When it comes to chemical compatibility, purity and overall properties no material comes close to Teflon® as a choice for hose constructions. Pharmaceutical, biotech, semiconductor, food and like-industry users want a hose with a smooth tube. As a plastic however, Teflon® in a smooth-tube construction is relatively stiff and thus was subject to handling damage, kinking etc. Coreflex S-COR changes that! S-COR incorporates an externally embedded fiberglass braid in the Teflon tube. This construction is then stainless steel braided. An external white silicone cover is extruded over the braid to provide a smooth sanitary jacket and protect the braid. S-COR combines all of the desired properties in an extremely flexible, durable conduit. S-COR may be ordered with any type of fittings. Standard fitting material is 316L/316 stainless steel; sanitary fittings are 10-15 µin Ra micro-inch finish; electropolish optional.

Approvals

  • Pharmacopeia Class VI
  • FDA
  • 3A
  • USDA

Properties or Teflon®

  • unexcelled material compatibility (validation almost a non-issue)
  • non-stick surface…easily cleaned; great flow rates; no bacteria traps
  • temperature rated; -62º C (-80ºF) to + 204ºC (+400ºF) autoclavable, S.I.P/C.I.P.
  • non-contaminating; no leachables
  • not easily wetted; material is far easier from Teflon than stainless steel or glass (bacteria are too large to attack surface)
