The Company, through its company-owned operations, joint ventures, alliances and technical licenses, has 43 plants spanning 22 countries. It is the No. 1 worldwide producer of dextrose and a leading regional manufacturer of starch. The Company has customers in almost 60 industries, including the food, soft drink, brewing, pharmaceutical, corrugating, paper and textile industries.
Corn Products International´s North American presence is comprised of wholly owned corn refining businesses in the United States and Canada, and majority ownership in Mexico. The Company is the only North American corn refiner with full-scale sweetener and starch facilities in all three NAFTA countries.
Leading market positions extend throughout the Rest of World through 100-percent owned corn refining operations in South America, and subsidiaries, joint ventures and alliances in Asia, Africa and other areas. Today, Corn Products International´s and affiliated facilities can be found in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, India, Japan, Kenya, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Thailand, Uruguay, Venezuela, Yugoslavia and Zimbabwe.
Corn Products International, Inc., became an independent public company on December 31, 1997, following its spin-off from CPC International Inc., now Bestfoods. The Company stock is traded on the NYSE under the symbol CPO.
