Founded in 1984 Crawford Scientific offered consumable supplies and technical support for HPLC, GC and sample preparation products throughout the Scottish market. The company grew steadily, and moved into the current premises in Strathaven in 1992.

The close relationship with Agilent Technologies (formerly Hewlett Packard) began in 1994, when the company became the first 'Channel Partner' for the supply of parts and consumables in the UK, initially this applied just for the Scottish market. The scheme was very successful due to the fact that Crawford invested heavily in supplies in order to hold comprehensive stock and therefore offer rapid delivery in addition to outstanding technical support. Agilent Technologies encouraged by the success of the Channel Partner relationship invited the Crawford Scientific to supply the Agilent Technologies Chemical Analysis Group products throughout the UK.

The Agilent Technologies relationship has developed to the extent that Crawford Scientific is the only UK Channel Partner who also distributes instruments in the form of the UV/Visible diode array spectrophotometers for Agilent Technologies. Over the years Crawford Scientific have added a number of innovative, cutting edge products to the product portfolio and now supply these as well as a comprehensive package of chromatography consumables across the whole of the UK market.

As a company Crawford Scientific supply a complete range of LC, GC, SPE, Sample Handling Products backed up by an excellent technical support service. Alongside these products Crawford Scientific can also offer generic and customised training courses in all aspects of chromatography and hyphenated techniques.
