CSafe announced recently that it has subcontracted maintenance and repair services for their CSafe RKN at both the Seattle and Dulles International Airports. This notice follows their June announcement of the opening of their CSafe managed service center in San Francisco. The new repair centers at SEA and IAD will service CSafe’s active systems and they anticipate that the growth of these centers will be similar to that of their SFO center.

Rick Rackley, CSafe’s Director of Service Centers and Support, explains: “The Dulles and Seattle service centers will allow CSafe to support our growing biopharmaceutical customers in transporting high volumes of temperature-sensitive shipments through both locations. Since opening our SFO service center, we’ve seen a significant increase in business from regional biopharma companies necessitating the addition of another technician to our staff to support the business growth.”

Biopharmaceuticals are a growing sector in Washington State. Earlier this month, the Washington Biotechnology & Biomedical Association (WBBA), the state’s life science trade association, reported that more than 50 Washington state life science transactions this year-to-date have surpassed $1B. Washington, D.C. also has a vibrant biopharma sector. The Washington, D.C. and Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority reported that in 2012, carriers at Dulles International and Reagan National handled approximately $8.4B in air freight destined for both domestic and foreign markets.

CSafe President and CEO, Brian Kohr, concludes: “As part of our continuing commitment to deliver value, effective and quality temperature-sensitive shipping solutions to our customers and partners, we opened the SEA and IAD service centers to support their increasing business. We are proud of CSafe’s unprecedented growth and the expansion of our RKN fleet by 45% in the past twelve months.”
