CSL Acquires Bayer's Omaha Facility
A subsidiary of CSL Limited (Melbourne, Australia), Biocor Animal Health Inc., has acquired Bayer Corporation's (Kansas City, MO) animal health biologicals manufacturing facility in Omaha, NE, together with the small animal vaccines produced there.

Biocor will continue to manufacture certain cattle and swine vaccines at the site for Bayer, pending transfer of production to Bayer's Worthington, MN, and Shawnee, KS, facilities.
The staff at the Omaha facility will be kept intact, said Dr. Hugh Middleton, president of Biocor, noting that it would be wise to take advantage of the vaccine development and marketing experience present there. In fact, he reports that the marketing, scientific and regulatory functions will be strengthened.
Officials at Bayer add that the sale fits Bayer's strategy of focusing the division's animal health biologicals business on large-animal markets. Bayer is a leading supplier of biologicals to the cattle, swine and equine markets.
Biocor is a wholly owned subsidiary of CSL Limited based in Melbourne, Australia.
Bayer Corporation is a research-based company in the health care and life sciences.
