The advantages of modular construction are well documented, but it takes specific expertise to design your facility to take best advantage of this approach. Biokinetics pioneered the use of process modules in the life science industry and is a leading supplier of large-scale custom process modules today.

Our Modular systems include:

  • Bioreactor and Fermentor Systems
  • Clean In Place Systems
  • Custom Process Systems
  • High Purity Water Systems
  • Media Prep and Buffer Prep Systems
  • Product Recovery Systems
  • Purification Systems
  • Temperature Control Systems
  • Waste Collection and Inactivation Systems

Speed to market
In addition to individual unit operations, we have successfully designed, built, Factory Acceptance Tested (FAT), and shipped to the site entire process trains using our modular approach. This approach provides a significant speed-to-market advantage since it allows the construction of the building and the process to proceed in parallel.

3D modeling
Our expert designers utilize 3D modeling software to develop and design systems to meet any functional specifications required of the manufacturing process. These systems often combine smaller process skids into one large modular design. These modules are fully piped and wired, the control package is installed, and the unit is programmed and tested independent of the facility construction.

Project control and schedule compression
This approach offers significant advantages to traditional building methods. Project timelines are compressed (link) because the development and manufacture of the process and its labor force is divorced from the site construction. This allows more labor force to be applied at the site while maintaining realistic resource loading levels.

Quality control
Quality control is superior because the construction is taking place in a controlled shop environment. Testing of the process occurs earlier because there is no reliance on facility completion. In addition, problems found during testing are addressed right in the factory before being shipped to the site. Additionally, the factory test documentation is available to shorten the time required to validate.
