Customer Demand Brings Back Synflex 3740 Hydraulic Hose
Furon is bringing back the popular Synflex 3740 non-conductive hydraulic hose after customers demanded its return. According to Christopher Steber, product manager of Furon's Hose and Tubing Division, disappointed customers let their distributors know of their loyalty to the 3740 after it was replaced several years ago. "We are a customer-focused company, and we're listening to our customers," Steber said of the decision to redistribute the Synflex 3740 product.
The Synflex non-conductive series of hoses are used to convey hydraulic fluid at pressure, usually to maneuver a hydraulic boom or heavy equipment arm. The hose is used in the manufacture of aerial lift equipment, mobile machinery, utility trucks, rescue apparatus and tools, and other equipment that may come in contact with high voltage sources.
The Synflex 3740 features a bright orange polyurethane non-perforated cover, a polyester core tube and braided synthetic fiber reinforcement. Multi-line configurations help prevent twisting. All products remain flexible through a temperature range of -40°F to 212°F when carrying water-based or fire resistant fluids.
Other features of the Synflex 3740 are that it has a smaller outside diameter and it is lighter in weight than rubber hydraulic hoses, which makes it easier to use and to carry. Because it is both compact and flexible, it also makes the 3740 easier to install.
