Data Warehouse Designed for Pharmaceutical Executives
Computer Sciences Corporation this week introduced PharmIQ, a data warehouse service that allows life sciences companies to organize sales, marketing and contract data into a single infrastructure. PharmIQ has been designed to address the common decision making needs of a life sciences company, yet remains flexible enough to accommodate each company's information and analytical requirements.
"Traditionally, data warehousing has been viewed as a cross-industry discipline focused on organizing and applying business data toward a set of general business goals," observed Scott Kohn, regional director for CSC's Life Sciences Practice. "In developing PharmIQ, we began with an understanding of the changing information needs of a pharmaceutical company and their need to access and share information across functional areas within their organization, and more broadly, with third-party vendors and business partners."
PharmIQ is based on a standard set of analytical tools, and a shared data repository and technical infrastructure. The PharmIQ solution leverages a company's existing information infrastructure investment, adding new components necessary to support today's business requirements.
"PharmIQ allows companies to fully leverage existing investments," said John Williams, Product Director for PharmIQ. "Whether a company is redesigning a data warehouse from the ground up, adding new information components to what already exists, or performance-tuning an existing data warehouse, a company will see immediate value with our data warehouse."
PharmIQ supports a broad range of users in a pharmaceutical company, from sophisticated users to novices. Designed with visually compelling graphics, PharmIQ offers three ways to access the system which include a graphical "push button" executive information system, client server access and a web-enabled system.
Headquartered in El Segundo, CA, the company has nearly 45,000 employees in more than 650 offices worldwide and provides clients with a wide range of professional services, including management consulting, information systems consulting and integration, and operations support.
