Denton Vacuum, Inc. was incorporated in 1964 by its founder Richard Denton, and grew under his guidance until his son; Peter Denton joined the company in 1977 and assumed the role of its President in 1982. In January of 1998, the operating activities of Denton Vacuum, Inc. were transferred to its present corporate structure as Denton Vacuum, LLC.
In January of 1994, responding to increased demands for the company's product and to further the company's commitment to R&D, Denton moved from its original Cherry Hill, NJ location to a 24-acre wooded campus complex with a total of over 100,000 square feet of manufacturing R&D and office spaces in Moorestown, NJ. This move consolidated engineering, process development, manufacturing and leadership resources and provided the increased efficiencies needed to maintain Denton's leadership role in the global market place. This location features upgraded clean room facilities, increased R&D space, expanded applications labs and added welding machining, electrical assembly, final assembly and test capacities for manufacturing.
The present management team assumed their current responsibilities in March 1998 when Peter Denton relinquished the presidency to become chairman of the board. Herbert F. Greene, President and CEO and Frank Zimone, Vice President of Technology were uniquely poised to step up and blend their expertise in the leadership of Denton Vacuum. These new officers had been with Denton for about 10 years and had worked together to strengthen the company and allow it to reach its current solid condition. Currently, Denton Vacuum employs about 100 people, with approximately 1/3 of those being degreed technical personnel. These people are supplemented by a worldwide sales representative organization and customer service facilities.
Denton Vacuum enjoys an international reputation for providing high quality state-of-the-art vacuum equipment and coatings. Systems have currently been placed in North American, Europe, and virtually all of the Pacific Rim countries. The company currently supplies coating services and coating equipment to leading industrial companies such as Pentax, IBM, AT&T, Texas Instruments, 3M, Kodak, Solar, Xerox, JDS Uniphase, as well as most leading universities and research facilities worldwide.
