DEX Receives ISO 13485:2003 Certification

DEX (Data Exchange Corporation), a leading supply chain solutions provider for high-tech industries, announced recently that DEX's corporate facility located in Camarillo, California achieved International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 13485:2003 certification, which signifies DEX's compliance with quality management system standards related to medical devices. The company continues to maintain its ISO 9001:2000 certification, an internationally recognized standard for quality management systems.

ISO 13485:2003, a Medical Device Quality Management System (QMS) process standard developed by ISO, is generally harmonized with ISO 9001, a family of standards for quality management systems that requires the demonstration of continuous improvement. ISO 13485:2003 also includes a special set of requirements specifically related to the supply of medical devices and related services.

Additionally, ISO 13485:2003 requires that companies demonstrate the ability to supply medical devices and related services that meet client expectations and comply with regulatory requirements. Under the certification, DEX has implemented and maintained a QMS and met additional requirements for process control, retention of records, accountability, traceability, and customer satisfaction.

"DEX is committed to quality within our organization and meeting all requirements applicable to the scope of our business, which revolves around logistics and supply chain solutions," said Sheldon Malchicoff, chairman and CEO of DEX. "This certification, which applies specifically to our medical device activities, is just another example of how seriously we take our business and our dedication to our clients."
