Dow picks Infotrieve for document access
Launched in 1987, Infotrieve is one of the largest independent document delivery services in the world. Its international network of library, archive and publishing alliances, enable it to provide online research and document delivery services, Web-based access to free bibliography databases, and computer tools to identify, retrieve and pay for published literature.
Under the agreement with Dow, Infotrieve will help staff Dow libraries, research text requests, and provide document delivery and article fulfillment.
Three Infotrieve divisions will provide services for Dow:
- Infotrieve USA will fulfill document delivery to North American Dow facilities.
- Infotrieve GmbH will provide document delivery and local customer support for Dow orders in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
- Advanced Information Consultants (AIC) will furnish onsite staff placement and operational support at several Dow facilities in North America.
AIC merged with Infotrieve last spring, providing outsourced services. "Together with Infotrieve, we are able to offer a complete, end-to-end solution for Dow. That's what made the deal happen," says library services manager Greg Wlodarczak.
Other corporate Infotrieve customers include 3M, Bristol Meyers Squibb, and General Motors.
