The EVAC-U8 Emergency Escape Smoke Hood is a respiratory protection escape device (RPED) that has relevant safety applications throughout the chemical industry.

Utilizing catalytic filtration technology that is effective against a variety of toxic gases (including acrolein, ammonia, carbon monoxide, chlorine dioxide, hydrogen chloride, hydrogen cyanide and hydrogen sulfide), this hood provides up to 20 min of breathable air in a toxic environment. In an emergency situation, the Kapton hood protects the wearer's head and eyes, and resists heat and flame up to 800°F.

EVAC-U8 is simple to use, weighs only 11 oz, and is approximately the size of a soft-drink can.
