Successful expansion is reliant on the use of media tailored for this specific purpose, ideally devoid of serum as it introduces variability that can lead to a lack of reproducibility and increased patient risk. This application note elucidates the advantages of a xeno- and serum-free medium for the targeted expansion of cell subpopulations without the addition of serum.
