Fastcoat M Series Coating System
The O'Hara "Fastcoat Modular" (FC M) series is a completely redesigned, self-contained range of tablet coaters (50-400kg). The installation scope and testing of a typical production tablet coater can virtually double the cost and the time of your project once it gets to your facility.
The FC M can be skid-mounted and fully fitted and tested at the factory with integrated modular air handling unit, controls and spray system. When it leaves the O'Hara facility it comes to the client's facility in one unit just as it was tested. Final connections can be made in just hours and testing and validation can progress from there. This is perfect for tablet coating requirements in all parts of this ever-changing pharmaceutical world. This skid-mounted coater does not take anymore GMP area than a traditional coater with O'Hara through-wall shrouding kit. If you choose to place the coater entirely in the GMP process area the coater only takes a little more space than a traditional coater, through unique design layout that allows the coater to be installed directly against the rear wall of your process room, all the mechanical access is done from the sides.
The FC M also features a newly integrated supply and exhaust plenum (patent pending). The supply plenum is built in as part of the pan cabinet and delivers gentle and laminar drying air to the tablet bed evenly over its entire surface, greatly reducing disruption to the spray. The exhaust plenum is also built in as part of the pan cabinet, no longer does this heavy and complicated device have to be removed for cleaning and maintenance. The interior of the exhaust plenum is easily accessed in place from externally sealed side hatch for maintenance and cleaning without opening the pan cabinet.
No longer do operators have to lift and clamp big and bulky discharge scoops into the pan to remove the tablets, with the FC M's gravity unloading system the tablets flow gently from the bottom discharge chute on the front of the coater into tablet bin, bag or box. This feature can also be automated and contained for high potency tablet transfer in and out of the FC M.
The optional high efficiency, compact dust extraction system can quick-clamp on directly at the back of the coater or be placed remotely outside the area or building, in either case quick assembly duct systems are available so coater can be installed in just hours.
If you decide you like all the advanced features of the new FC M but do not want the skid-mount design with the Air Handler and Control devices on-board the coater, this coater is also available in the traditional format with the "famous" O'Hara all stainless steel Air Handler and controls installed remotely. Also, all the other well known special features of the O'Hara Fastcoat standard coating system are also available options with the FC M, such as Anti-bearding spray nozzles, built in spray pump and regulators, WIP system, dehumidification, standard color touch-screen control and many more.
