Fine Grinding APIs With Increased Efficiency

An internationally renowned API manufacturer needed to replace their existing pin mills and hammermills and substitute them with a more cost effective and efficient fine grinding alternative. Product changeover downtime and overall lengthy maintenance procedures, were contributing factors to increased production costs, resulting in diminished profitability. Furthermore, excessive noise - characteristic of pin mills and hammermills - was an additional factor being considered in their decision to source an alternate fine grinding technology.

To meet the criteria set by the customer, Quadro offered the F10 Fine Grind Mill. The F10 is a self-contained-fine-grinding-milling-plant. The advantages of the F10 were quickly discovered by the customer's operators. Cleaning time was greatly reduced. All the milling components can be taken apart in a minimal amount of time without the use of any specialized tools. The F10 Fine Grind Mill design produced greatly reduced amount of noise with readings in the 78 to 79 dB range, well below their existing noisier pin mills and hammermills. Finally, the milled output attained with the Quadro F10 Fine Grind mill either equaled or exceeded the customer's expectations in both capacity throughput and particle size distribution (PSD).
