Formatech Announces Contract Manufacturing Services

<%=company1%> of Lowell, MA is constructing a contract Aseptic Fill Manufacturing facility in Andover, MA. The manufacturing facility will focus on clinical trial material (CTM) supply. The 34,500-sq.ft. facility will have the capability to fill liquid and manufacture lyophilized final dosage units. Batch sizes will be suitable for most clinical supply demands, ranging from small, hand-fill batches to batches using automated equipment. "Lyophilization or freeze drying of final dosage units will be an integral part of our capabilities so we can address the needs of our current clients and the growing needs of the industry," says Dr. Ben Isaacs, president.

The facility will contain CGMP classified manufacturing areas, inspection/labeling areas, product storage, raw material storage, mechanical rooms, support laboratories, general office areas and new development laboratories. Director of Operations, Myron F. Dittmer, Jr. commented, "With an ever-increasing number of drug candidates in the pipeline, there is a great need for a facility dedicated to clinical supply manufacturing."

This new offering expands Formatech's commitment to providing quality service in product development and clinical trial supply manufacturing for the biotech and pharmaceutical industries. Future expansions are planned for the development services division and for other non-sterile manufacturing functions, such as solid dosage forms.
