Galderma S.A. Selects Multiple Healthcare Manufacturing Solutions from Honeywell
Pharmaceutical Arm of Nestlé to Implement New POMS MES, CMS, and eSpec Versions Across International Sites
PHOENIX, Arizona, September 19, 2001 — The Industrial Solutions strategic business unit of Honeywell [NYSE:HON] announced today that Swiss dermatological research leader Galderma, the healthcare joint venture of L'Oréal and Nestlé, has selected a trio of manufacturing solutions for process management from Honeywell POMS. These solutions will be implemented within Galderma's production and research and development facilities.
Galderma has chosen the Honeywell POMS® Manufacturing Execution System (MES), POMS Clinical Manufacturing Solution (CMS), and breakthrough electronic specification system, POMS eSpec™, for its commercial manufacturing, product development and commercial manufacturing operations. The first phase of implementation has recently begun, with an advance installation of the soon-to-be released POMS MES 4.3 at a Galderma facility in Montreal, Canada.
Additional implementations will follow, with subsequent installations at multiple sites in France. Succeeding phases will see the implementation of the upcoming POMS CMS™ 4.3 generation into the company's R&D facilities in Annecy and Sophia Antipolis in France.
Phillippe Lancery, Corporate Manufacturing and Technologies Vice President for Galderma, said, "The selection of the POMS solutions suite enables Galderma to benefit from Honeywell's impressive standard functionalities and guarantees of quality. The POMS offerings equip our company to meet the stringent demands of FDA regulation 21 CFR, part 11 and potentially shorten our time-to-market."
The upcoming POMS 4.3 generations of the flagship MES and CMS products represent the most functionally rich applications available for the healthcare manufacturing industries. All Honeywell POMS implementations are undertaken in accordance with the cGMP rules for the pharmaceutical and information technology arenas.
The POMS MES, CMS, and eSpec offerings are part of Honeywell's Unified Manufacturing™ Solution for the Pharmaceutical and Consumer Packaged Goods industries, and were developed by Honeywell POMS — the leading provider of MES solutions to the consumer packaged goods and pharmaceutical industries. Honeywell's UMS features a comprehensive group of offerings, from automation to environmental controls, that addresses the entire lifecycle of pharmaceutical and healthcare products, from research and development, through clinical trials, to manufacturing--from discovery to finished goods warehouse.
POMS solutions and the complete Honeywell's UMS portfolio are typified by eXceleration™, a customer-based focus on the enhancement of manufacturer's ability to accelerate innovation across product development, manufacturing, and e-commerce, all under a common standard of excellence. eXceleration enables customers to "be smarter, go faster."
