GlaxoSmithKline Recognized As One Of The Ten Best Employers In Canada
Company marks second consecutive year as top pharmaceutical employer
GlaxoSmithKline Inc. (GSK: 52.75, +2.46, +4.89%) has once again been named one of the 50 Best Employers in Canada in the annual list published by The Globe and Mail's Report on Business Magazine.

The 2008 survey marks the seventh consecutive year on the list for the research-based pharmaceutical company.
GSK is the country's largest bio-pharmaceutical contributor to Canadian research and development, investing more than $176 million in 2006 alone, and is Canada's leading flu vaccine manufacturer, supplying 75 per cent of Canadian government seasonal flu vaccine purchases.
The company recently announced the completion of a two year, $199 million investment to upgrade and expand its Quebec City influenza vaccine manufacturing facility, and has doubled the size of its vaccine workforce in Quebec City since January 2006.
In the survey, employees identified their physical work environment and their co-workers are key factors that make GlaxoSmithKline a great place to work. The survey also highlighted the company's people practices as a key driver for employee engagement.
