DIOSNA mixer-granulators are used by leading companies worldwide and guarantee the safe and reproducible production of high-quality granules – even with most difficult recipes and varying fill volumes.

  • The precise construction and robust design allow for small tolerances between bowl base and mixing tool, providing better mixing and product yield.
  • The large mixing blades with enlarged blade tips are positioned tangentially to the central hub. This ensures a good circulation of material even at low speed.
  • The cutting edges of the chopper are positioned in the zone with the highest circumferential speed which causes optimal densification of the granules and precise control of the particle size range. Even thick products can be mixed and granulated without problems.
  • The special bowl profile allows filling volumes between 30% and 90%.
  • Easy scale up due to identical bowl profiles and the same circumferential speeds of the mixing tool.

DIOSNA offers the widest range of granulators from the tabletop to large scale production as follows:

The DIOSNA granulators are extremely quick and efficient mixers of dry powders. Dry mixing is the first step of the process. After the products are mixed by means of our unique, bottom drive rotating tool (impeller), a binder is introduced into the product. The binder can be added in dry form or sprayed in as part of a binding solution. Spraying occurs though one or more spray nozzles and is quickly dispersed into the product by the mixing action of the main mixing tool (impeller) and the chopper blade.

The chopper blade, which is positioned in the highest circumferential area of the product aids in de-lumping. Once all of the solution is in the granulator, the impeller and chopper work together during the wet massing phase to produce dense granules of uniform particle size. The system quickly forms granules that are then easily and automatically discharged from a port in the bowl's side. The wet granules are generally milled as they come out of the granulator. The granules then need to be dried in ether an oven (old labor intensive technology) or a DIOSNA Fluid Bed Dryer machine (see fluid beds).

High Shear Granulating is a highly effective method of producing a uniform dense granule. The machine's function is simple in principle. Dry powders are first loaded into the granulator by vacuum or gravity (total containment is simple, call for details). The DIOSNA granulators are extremely quick and efficient mixers of dry powders.
