Hauser Announces Deal With PharmaPrint

Hauser, Inc., (Boulder, Colo.) has announced that in early 1998 it will begin manufacturing various botanical extracts for delivery to PharmaPrint Inc. (Irvine, Calif.). Hauser will also provide R&D services focused on PharmaPrint's herbal-based pharmaceuticals.

Hauser will produce the extracts in its FDA-registered facilities. Dr. Dean P. Stull, Hauser's chairman and CEO said, "Hauser's process and analytical expertise in natural products' purification and isolation, combined with PharmaPrint's technology and market access, position both companies to become leaders in the Dietary Supplements industry."

Hauser's product portfolio includes popular botanical extracts: echinacea, ginseng, valerian and St. John's Wort, under its Certified Assay and Natural Ratio trademarks, as well as its proprietary product, RoseOx, an antioxidant.

PharmaPrint uses its process technology to develop pharmaceutical-grade dietary supplements and pharmaceuticals from botanical sources.
