Application Note: HI-SPEED Checkweigher Controls Tolerance Systems

With the "globalization" of our product portfolio, Hi-Speeds' checkweighers and case scale controls can operate under both US and EC (European Community) tolerance systems. The tolerance system of the XC3 is fixed under EC and cannot be changed. The tolerance system of the XE and XS controls is user-selectable and can be changed to accommodate customer requirements. The tolerance system choices for the XE and XS equipped products are US, EC, or Free.

Unlike the US tolerance system which most domestic HI-SPEED customers are familiar with, the EC tolerance system has several unique features whose functions are not very clear. In most cases HI-SPEED customers will be using the US tolerance system which they are most familiar and comfortable with. Increasingly, domestic customer requirements dictate the adoption of the EC tolerance system. This may be driven by US companies selling to customers in the EC or European Community or OEM's selling outside of the US. Understanding the differences and unique features of these tolerance systems will enable you to provide your customer with clear and accurate information on the capabilities of HI-SPEED controls.
