Honeywell releases Profit Suite 200 for plant-wide control and optimization

The Hi-Spec Solutions business of Honeywell Industrial Control announced today it has released the next generation of its Profit Suite advanced control and optimization software. This market-leading technology offers improved ease-of-use features, increased control performance, and lower cost of ownership for manufacturing companies in the process industries.

As part of the core product offering, the new release—Profit Suite R200—provides new control and optimization capabilities, embedded historian options, as well as performance monitoring functions. A key strength of this release is its ability to increase optimization scope and leverage industrial process model information, thus offering Profit Suite users cost-effective linear and non-linear control solutions for plant-wide optimization.

Profit Suite R200 incorporates a variety of new and enhanced features for novice as well as expert users. For example, the Uniformance® Desktop suite is now integrated with Profit Suite R200 products for use on the local control node. These desktop tools can be used to access application history associated with any Profit Suite application from the embedded Uniformance historian; thus allowing simple to complex diagnostics and performance reports to be generated on the fly. Significant technical enhancements were also introduced to accommodate specialized control aspects in non-traditional multivariable controller applications.

Virginia Burnell, Vice President and General Manager of Honeywell Hi-Spec Solutions, said, "We are confident the new release of Profit Suite with its enhanced capabilities will deliver significant added benefits for optimizing operations and profits. This release will continue to drive our position as the global market leader in advanced control and optimization."

Profit Suite R200 is compatible with both Microsoft Windows NT and Microsoft Windows 2000 platforms, and its proven client/server architecture supports open data standards such as OPC (OLE for Process Control) for easy implementation on both Honeywell and non-Honeywell control systems.
