HORIBA Introduces New Dry Powder Options For Particle Size Analyzer
HORIBA introduces new options for dry powder particle size measurement with the Partica LA-950 Laser Diffraction Particle Size Analyzer. The Vacuum Cell allows measurement of measurement of fragile agglomerates or materials with no dispersive forces. For precious samples, volumes as small as 10ml can now be measured with the Vacuum Sampler.
HORIBA Instruments introduces new options for the Partica LA-950 Laser Diffraction Particle Size Analyzer, giving additional breadth of application for dry powder measurement. The Vacuum Cell allows measurement of fragile agglomerates or materials, with no dispersive forces applied until after the measurement zone. Traditional feeder systems have applied dispersive forces, preventing this type of measurement where the agglomerate size is of interest.
The Vacuum Sampler pulls small volumes of sample into the measurement cell. Combined with the automatically-triggered measurement start and stop, even the most precious of samples can now be measured. Sample sizes as small as 10mg have been tested successfully.
The PowderJet Dry Feeder system for the Partica LA-950 measures dry powders over the range of 0.1-3000 microns. Automatic sample feeding and adjustable, high-power dispersion systems allow for complete dispersion of even the most cohesive dry materials, providing equivalent results to traditional wet dispersion methods, while eliminating disposal of waste solvent.
