How To Use Zeta Potential To Stabilize Pharmaceutical Suspensions

Source: Micromeritics Instrument Corporation

Zeta potential indicates the level of suspension quality in a variety of different pharmaceutical products. Many factors can negatively affect obtaining an accurate zeta potential level. If the electrodes are too far apart for instance, a larger amount of energy is required in order to conduct ELS (electrophoretic light scattering) measurements. This can generate additional heat, which can then lead to damaging temperature-sensitive materials. This application note explains how to overcome these challenges and how determining accurate zeta potential can be used to you advantage.
