Inert Comil® From Quadro Suitable For Use In Hazardous Environments

Source: Quadro Engineering Corp.
The Quadro Comil® is a high capacity, low dust, low noise (typically 70 dBA), low energy mill with no metal-to-metal contact, and provides a tight particle size distribution. Industry suggests that the Comil is the most suitable mill for use in hazardous environments.

Changes in regulations for processing in hazardous locations have increased the need for inert Comils. Quadro has recently supplied customers with Comils that were purged with Nitrogen, an inert gas. This particular customer required 3 identical mills for their R&D Centre. The Comils were fitted with a control system to analyze the O2 level in the mill and control the N2 purge through the mill. The control system was also designed for use in a hazardous zone. The mills and controls were customized to the stipulated sanitary and safety requirements. Compact size and footprint were a prime criteria.

Nine models are available for capacities from batches of a few ounces to 60,000 lb/hr (a few grams to 27,000 kg/hr). Lab models can easily be scaled up to production units with consistent particle sizes and predictable capacities. All models feature a sanitary, easy-clean design and stainless steel construction. Equipment can be customized to the End User's requirements.
