The Thermalert MP50 is an industrial infrared process imager that provides edge-to-edge temperature imaging, monitoring, analysis and control on continuous sheet and web processes.
The Thermalert MP50 is an industrial infrared process imager that provides edge-to-edge temperature imaging, monitoring, analysis and control on continuous sheet and web processes. It features such enhancements as a faster microprocessor system that allows a faster scan rate, standard air and water cooling, and a new rugged housing. Expanded temperature range from 20-1200°C. The unit comes with DataTemp MP software that provides real-time 2-D thermal imager for process engineers in glass, plastics, paper, steel, converting and textile industries.

The Thermalert MP50's faster scan rate of 48 Hz (without analog outputs) and 36 Hz (with analog outputs), provides increased image scrolling speed allowing users to see a complete thermal image of their product or process on their computer screen. The faster scan rate is especially important for high-speed processes, allowing operators to easily detect temperature non-uniformities and correct for them. The RS-485 communications allow data to travel up to 1000 meters from the production floor. The faster scan rate makes the MP50 an exceptional tool for edge-to-edge profiles of a fast-moving process.

DataTemp MP Windows software comes standard with every unit, and provides remote set-up, monitoring and analysis tools. Features include increased levels of security, better scan detail, more display options, web access, quick scanner connection and an integrated configuration program. The user interface has been improved, making it easier to capture and display real-time profiles, thermal images, and 3D contour graphs. Users can simultaneously monitor, record, or playback temperature data in multiple windows allowing them to review profile snapshots against historical data.

The ruggedized housing meets NEMA 12 (IP65, IEC 529) standards, features improved air purge that keeps the window free of contamination and dust and is waterproof. It is designed to withstand harsh industrial environments and operate accurately in ambient temperatures of 50°C without water cooling and 180°C with water cooling.

Standard features include built-in temperature alarm relay, three analog outputs, RS-485 digital communications, DataTemp software, and an open interface protocol for developing in-house software for particular processes.
