Inspection of lyophilized products - Seidenader LI

Freeze dried products usually are not very consistent in their appearance without an effect on their pharmaceutical efficiency. The LI is an automatic inspection machine for-giving enough to separate good and defective products even if the appearance changes within a batch.
Inspection criteria:
- Glass pieces and particles on the cake surfaces
- position and color of flip-off cap
- color of crimp
- cap and stopper
- missing stopper
- seal crimp defects
- scratches
- cracks in sidewall and bottom
- dirt
- fill level
- Optional:
Camera stations for inspection of particles in liquids
Mode of operation:
From an infeed module the products are transfered onto an inspection carousel.
There they can be rotated around their central axis to present their entire circumference to a series of camera stations. Each camera station is designed to inspect one area of the container: Sidewall, heel, shoulder and cake surface. The ampules and vials are taken off the inspection carousel with a vacuum starwheel. Here the closure area and the container bottom are free for inspection. Defects are separated from good products by a starwheel system.
Optionally the defects can be separated into two categories. Good products are transferred to the next process.
