Intellipharm CU is a software program developed for Windows that simulates unit dose potencies given inputs of drug particle size distribution, dose, and drug density. The software provides guidance in establishing the largest drug particle size distribution specification that will yield good content uniformity, assuming perfect mixing. In practice, a smaller particle size distribution may be needed due to imperfect mixing. However, the software will provide guidance in selecting the best range of particle size distributions for validating particle size specifications with the mixing process to ensure good content uniformity.
