An impressive attendance throughout the seven days of the trade fair in Dusseldorf

"The last edition of ‘Interpack' turned out to be an important assessment opportunity for the Group and offered customers the possibility to take a close look at the innovative solutions that our machines are able to offer for all packaging requirements. The market looks healthy and dynamic and Marchesini confirms itself yet again as a major reference point for its customers, both multinational enterprises and small and medium companies. The challenge for the future is to produce even more sophisticated machines but which are at the same time easy to use for customers". This is the first comment of Maurizio Marchesini, CEO of Marchesini Group, at the end of "Interpack 2011", the most important trade fair in the world for the packaging industry, held in Dusseldorf last May, 12th – 18th. The event takes place every three years, offering a great opportunity of comparison for worldwide packaging manufacturers, in which Marchesini Group has been participating successfully since 1981.

Several thousand customers from across the globe – especially Europe, from Russia, North America and Latin America, from the Middle and Far East and from India – visited Marchesini's stand over the seven days of the event, showing great interest in the latest innovative solutions offered by the Group. Among the lines most appreciated by customers were the complete blister packaging line "MB460 FAST", the fastest ever to be produced by Marchesini, capable of delivering 720 blisters per minute, alongside the robotic blister packaging line "Integra200", capable of integrating the two thermoforming and carton packaging operations in one single machine: the latter was available in the version "ready for delivery", protected and pallet-packed with relevant validation and test documents, ready to be purchased and collected at a set price. Another successful line was that for packaging pre-filled syringes, from assembly through to wrapping, as well as a line for packaging vials in a sterile environment, made up of the Steril 400 filler in-line with the Depyr600 depyrogenation tunnel: these products prove the Group's willpower to make major investments in the sterile packaging industry. Another eye-catching and interesting product was Romeo, the wireless controller developed by Marchesini to simplify and speed-up size change-over operations and line control and management.

From a commercial point of view the result of the event was more than positive, which the sales director of the Group, Piero Tomasi confirms: "At our stand of nearly 13000 ft² – Mr. Tomasi pointed out – customers were able to appreciate the six complete lines on show as well as the stand-alone machines exhibited, personally checking out the complete and cutting-edge solutions manufactured by Marchesini Group for packaging pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. The added value of Marchesini is that of offering solutions that make their mark, aiming at innovation and at the efficiency of our machines, which on one hand become ever sophisticated but on the other simpler to manage".

Last but not least, Marchesini's restaurant was greatly appreciated too, which was set-up at the stand and which served over 500 meals each day over the seven days of the trade fair. Customers were offered the opportunity to taste the local cuisine of Bologna, enjoying dishes prepared on-site by the skilled hands of chefs Giusy and Monica: the favourite dish was traditional "Tortellini", followed by delicious desserts, especially our famous "Tiramisu". The triumph of the gastronomic "made in Italy" is proven also in numbers: during the seven days of the trade fair, Marchesini's restaurant served 1260 sandwiches, 80 kilos of Tiramisu, 140 kilos of Tortellini, 1000 eggs (240 for omelettes alone),120 kilos of pasta, 80 kilos of Mozzarella cheese, 5 whole wheels of Parmesan cheese and 30 kilos of flour for mini pizzas.

So once again the typical welcome of the Emilia people, reserved by the Group for its guests, was truly appreciated: a trade mark for Marchesini which, despite its major international dimensions, has always remained faithful to its origins, paying utmost attention not only to the efficiency and hi-technology of its machines, but also to customer care.
