Invensys Process Automation, a unit of Invensy plc, today announced the formation of Invensys Pharmaceutical Solutions, a focused business unit providing today's global pharmaceutical and biotech companies with regulatory compliant automation and engineering solutions.

The new unit incorporates resources from Validation Technologies (VTI) and the pharmaceutical automation group of Walsh Automation (both acquired by Invensys in August 2000), plus other appropriate Invensys resources. Headquartered in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Invensys Pharmaceutical Solutions' resources are distributed throughout North America and Europe.

This core group of more than 100 pharmaceutical industry specialists will provide domain expertise within Invensys for delivering regulatory compliant solutions for pharmaceutical and biotech customers around the world. These solutions will take advantage of the broad portfolio of complementary products, systems, and services available within the Invensys global organization. This organization includes APV, Baan, Foxboro, Eurotherm, Satchwell, and Wonderware. Best-in-class third-party products and services will also be utilized as appropriate.

Invensys Pharmaceutical Solutions will provide pharmaceutical and biotech companies with the same high-quality, highly repeatable automation and validation solutions anywhere in the world. This is especially important to multinational companies. To minimize risk and maximize return on investment, these solutions are guaranteed to provide measurable plant and business performance improvements.
