ISL Silo Valve

There are two types, the "Dosing" valve and the "Bridge breaker" valve. The bridge breaker is usually used with the Dosing valve in tandem; the dosing valve at the silo outlet and the Bridge breaker fixed with it's cross frame some distance above inside the silo hopper. The bridge breaker gives head load protection to the dosing valve, this in turn does the controlled discharge and accurate dosing to process. The bridge breaker can have an optional internal vibrator for more cohesive products.

The Dosing Valve incorporates a "rate & position transducer" which totally controls the valve aperture so as to maintain either any number of positions or continuous flow rate; making it an accurate batch and continuous gravimetric feeder as well as a fail safe valve. In rate control mode, the system automatically accommodates for any change in product characteristic or even totally different products. The dosing valve is available in a range of maximum lift heights to suit the product and discharge rates required. The Bridge breaker is available in a range of diameters to suit the product characteristics. ISL will advise you on the optimum valve or tandem valves to suit your requirements. An important feature is that the Dosing Valve can be dismantled totally from below, leaving the cone valve part in place even with a full silo.
