J&J Commits $2 Billion To N.C. Manufacturing Facility

Johnson & Johnson (J&J) will invest $2 billion in pharmaceutical manufacturing in North Carolina. The new 60,000+ ft2 facility is at FUJIFILM’s biopharmaceutical manufacturing site in Holly Springs, North Carolina.
J&J’s latest announcement follows its commitment in March to invest $55 billion to support U.S. manufacturing, R&D, and technology over the next four years. The $2 billion in Holly Springs will be utilized over the next 10 years and will create 120 jobs.
In the coming months, the Company also intends to share the plans for additional advanced manufacturing facilities in the U.S. as well as the expansion of current U.S. sites.
“Johnson & Johnson has more manufacturing facilities in the U.S. than in any other country, and we continue to strengthen our presence here,” said J&J CEO and Chairman Joaquin Duato in a company press release.
The company is currently constructing a manufacturing facility in Wilson, North Carolina. When completed, that facility will create 500 jobs.
