JRS PHARMA Introduces New Functional Excipients

Patterson, NY – JRS Pharma, producer of world-leading products and patented technologies for the pharmaceutical and nutritional industries, adds two new products to its extensive portfolio of high-quality multifunctional excipients primarily for solid dosage forms: VIVAPHARM® HPMC (hypromellose, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose) and VIVACOAT® (Ready-to-use Coating System).

VIVAPHARM® HPMC is a multifunctional cellulosic excipient used for film coating as a wet granulation binder and as an alternative to gelatin in two-piece capsule manufacture. This new excipient offers multiple advantages, such as wide viscosity range, neutral color and taste, rapid solubility and clear, robust films. HPMC applications include cosmetic coating, controlled-release coatings of matrix tablets, coating for taste masking, binder for wet or dry granulation, topical preparations, suspension, ophthalmic, oral films and others. VIVAPHARM® HPMC is available in multiple grades to address a variety of applications, including HPMC E 3, HPMC E 5, HPMC E 6, HPMC E 15, HPMC E 50.

VIVACOAT® is a ready-to-use, fully formulated coating system for pharmaceutical and nutritional products, comprising polymer, plasticizer, opacifier and pigments. VIVACOAT® offers advantages to tablet manufacturing such as color matching, batch-to-batch color consistency, shorter lead and process times, reduced inventory and testing, reduced costs and free technical support. Grades include VIVACOAT® P (Pharma), F (Food), M (Moisture Barrier) and A (High Adhesion).
