Case Study: Large Pharmaceutical Company CIP Systems Project, 2054

Under this project, IPEC provided all materials, engineering, fabrication and assembly services to construct Three Tank CIP systems and Chemical Pump Enclosures. The equipment was designed to clean equipment and product transfer piping used in the cGMP manufacturing of pharmaceutical products.

The CIP systems were 3-Tank eductor assisted designed and included all tanks, pumps, valves, instrumentation, control panels, interconnecting piping and electrical wiring, fully assembled on structural stainless steel frames.

All systems mounted equipment was terminated to local control panels on the system(s). Prior to shipment, the systems were I/Q and O/Q checked to ensure satisfactory operation of all system mounted components. This was followed by Factory Acceptance Dry Testing (FADT) and Factory Acceptance Wet Testing (FAWT), with customer representatives present.

As part of the (FAWT), riboflavin was sprayed on the inside of all the system mounted tanks. The tanks were then cleaned utilizing the tank mounted sprayballs. This ensured that the tanks could be cleaned and were free draining.

The two Chemical Pump Enclosures included acid and base supply chemical pumps, chemical supply routing valves, interconnecting piping and electrical wiring, fully assembled and mounted on stainless steel frame assemblies.

All systems mounted equipment was terminated to a local control panel, mounted on the system. Prior to shipment the systems were I/Q and O/Q checked to ensure operation of all systems mounted components. This was followed by (FADT) and (FAWT) with customer representatives present.

After completion of testing, IPEC was responsible for export crating of all systems for delivery to Puerto Rico.
