Largest Industrial Gathering To Take Place At New Puerto Rico Convention Center
Norwalk, CT - The new Puerto Rico Convention Center will be the site of the largest gathering of industrial suppliers and related professionals on the island when INTERPHEX Puerto Rico, MEDICAL DEVICE Puerto Rico and Supply Chain & Logistics Puerto Rico convene on February 16-17, 2006. The three events, which will occur simultaneously, will occupy the entire Convention Center and feature over 400 exhibiting companies. An estimated 4000 industry professionals are expected to attend.
"We are thrilled to bring the INTERPHEX, MEDICAL DEVICE and Supply Chain & Logistics Puerto Rico events to the new Puerto Rico Convention Center," stated Kevin Richards, Vice President for Reed Exhibitions, event producers. "The move to the Convention Center has enabled these events to thrive, offering Puerto Rico industry professionals the opportunity to see more exhibitors, larger displays of equipment and expanded educational offerings that enable them to increase their productivity and stimulate economic activity on the island."
The INTERHEX and MEDICAL DEVICE Puerto Rico events serve the needs of the island's robust life sciences industry, showcasing products and technologies used in the development, manufacture and packaging of pharmaceuticals and medical devices. Supply Chain & Logistics Puerto Rico, which will be held for the first time this year, serves the needs of professionals from multiple industries, offering solutions and technologies for procurement, inventory management, warehousing, material handling and shipping/distribution.
"Holding the three events simultaneously provides additional benefits for attendees and exhibitors alike," remarked Richards. "Visitors will have the ability to attend all three exhibit floors with one registration while exhibitors will benefit from seeing a broader spectrum of potential buyers."
In addition to an extensive display of exhibits, each of the three events will feature a dedicated educational program, developed in conjunction with a Conference Advisory Board consisting of industry thought leaders. Key subject areas across the three programs include regulatory issues, manufacturing technologies, facilities management, operational excellence, track and trace technology, strategic supply chain management and accredited continuous improvement training. Attendees can select from a variety of registration options ranging from an all-inclusive Full Conference pass to single program passes to single session passes.
"As a professional, I'm focused on driving efficiency, securing my supply chain, optimizing distribution channels and delivering superior customer service. I'm confident that these Conferences will provide the tools and resources to help me and others in my profession achieve these goals," noted Advisory Board member Maridaly Rodriguez, Supply Chain Director for Stryker PR - Endoscopy.
Among the highlights of the events will be a presentation by Gary Dykstra, Regional Food & Drug Director of the Southeast Region of the FDA, who will deliver the Opening Day Keynote Address on Thursday, February 16, at 1:10pm. Mr. Dykstra is expected to share the FDA's view on the latest issues and trends in the pharmaceutical and medical device industry. Rounding out the second day will be a presentation by Jim Bradburn, Principal Consultant with IBM Business Consulting Services, on "21st Century Manufacturing: Managing Product Risk, Reducing Operational Costs and Increasing Supply Chain Responsiveness."
