Until recently the Methylene Blue Dye leak testing method has been used for blister packed tablets. The process being messy and destructive, as well as dependent on human errors, may now be finally replaced by a clean, precise, non-destructive leak tester which can also be easily validated from cracks down to micro-leak measuring
3 microns across.

The compact BLI machine may be either integrated for 100% in line leak detection or for automatic sample testing between the existing Blister Line and Cartoner Packing line. The blister packs are automatically inserted in a testing chamber. Special sensors analyse the swelling of each blister cavity when set under a predetermined vacuum, thus rejecting faulty blister packs accordingly. The machine will also indicate which cavity is leaking. The BLI machine is fully computerised utilising a SCADA platform. The software is easy to operate and includes utilities such as a products database, statistical reports etc. A printer is also installed for printing test results and parameters. The technology is highly repeatable , precise and fully validated. Laboratory semi-automatic models are also available.
