Lotrx Rupture Disc
The LOTRX™ RUPTURE DISC from Continental Disc Corporation is the newest in a proven line of scored, reverse acting rupture discs – but with the added benefit of lower burst pressure settings than other solid metal rupture discs.
The LOTRX is available with burst pressure settings as low as 2 psig in a 1" nominal size (0,14 barg in 25 mm size). Previously, pressure settings this low were only available in conventional composite disc designs, which require elastomer or fluorocarbon seals. This new solid metal, reverse disc design represents a breakthrough in low pressure relief applications.
The LOTRX Rupture Disc incorporates innovative technologies like C.D.C.'s patented Failure Initiating Indent, located near the apex of the rupture disc dome, and C.D.C.'s Notched Outlet Ring, which facilitates opening along the Precision Semicircular Score. With a safety ratio of 1-to-1, it has been designed to provide pressure relief at or below the burst pressure rating, should your LOTRX™ Rupture Disc be damaged during installation or handling.
Potential industries and applications for this new product include: chemical, pharmaceutical, brewing/food, relief valve isolation, high-temperature applications (where conventional composite designs are unusable), and anywhere else that low pressure, corrosion resistance, high operating ratio, or fugitive emissions is an issue.
Continental Disc Corporation, founded in Kansas City in 1965, is an ISO 9000:2000 Certified Quality System Manufacturer and is also accredited and authorized to apply the ASME "UD" Code Symbol Stamp to products built in accordance with the requirements of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section VIII, Division I. Plus, C.D.C. has been approved to apply the China Quality License Type Approval Stamp, and has made application to a notified body to apply the CE Mark to rupture discs in accordance with the European Pressure Equipment Directive. C.D.C. has a trained, worldwide representative network, a Technical Team to serve specialized applications, and was the first rupture disc manufacturer with an ASME Accepted Flow Test Laboratory on site.
