Maintain Sterility And Ease In CGT development, Including Cryopreservation
By Troy Ostreng, Sr Product Manager, Cell & Gene Therapy, CPC
The cell and gene therapy (CGT) sector is rapidly growing, necessitating efficient and sterile processes. Sterile connectors are pivotal in maintaining sterility outside biosafety cabinets, replacing tube welding, reducing operator error, and enhancing productivity. Aseptic micro-connectors have been developed to address gaps in small-volume processes, facilitating early-stage drug development and small-batch therapies by streamlining scalability with validated materials. CPC aseptic connectors, such as the MicroCNX® ULT Series, are designed to improve cryopreservation for CGT facilities and withstand freeze-thaw cycles and extreme temperatures. These connectors endure temperatures as low as -190°C, ensuring chemical compatibility and reliability, and are compatible with cryoprotective agents like DMSO. CPC’s MicroCNX® and AseptiQuik® sterile connectors support robust, closed, and sterile processing, aiding in faster, cost-efficient, and contamination-free CGT production.
