Mantra Software Completes Initial Round Of Venture Financing

Mantra Software, a leading developer of information management software for the science-based industries, has completed an initial round of venture funding. Led by Highland Capital of Boston, MA, the $6.4 million financing package also included investments by Brentwood Venture Capital of Menlo Park, CA, and St. Paul Venture Capital of St. Paul, MN. The proceeds will be used to advance the introduction of Mantra's signature product, NuGenesis; a new technology that enables scientists to unify and manage scientific information generated from an extensive array of laboratory applications. NuGenesis provides scientists greater insight into knowledge generated in the laboratory.

NuGenesis

NuGenesis is designed to unify the multitude of reports and images that pharmaceutical professionals generate every day on their PCs. NuGenesis integrates graphical information such as chromatograms, mass spectra, and molecular modeling images with office applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, or Power Point. "If you can store these reports at all, they are typically stored in many different PCs under different formats," says David Levy, Mantra's product management director. "NuGenesis allows you to unify, access, and manage all laboratory information from one software application."

NuGenesis capabilities include:

Unify: All laboratory reports and graphics from all Windows applications may be combined within a single (NuGenesis) application

Access, review, print: Reports and graphics originally from multiple applications

Manage, organize, search: For reports and graphics using user-defined database tags, or through the program's "FIND" feature within reports or images

Send: Analytical reports, including graphics, or sections of reports, may be sent to others within your organization as scalable metafiles

Create: Complex compound documents are generated easily, using NuGenesis with third-party software such as ISIS Draw, Microsoft Word, Excel, or PowerPoint. Users may include graphics and tables from the NuGenesis database, then print the final document back to the database.
