Meridium receives SAP certification for plant maintenance module
"We offer a suite of reliability tools," said Meridium spokeswoman Jane Bailey. "That includes a condition monitoring module, inspection manager, and a task manager that works mainly with the inspection tool. All the modules work together to manage work flow." And now they're certified to work with, and leverage information from, SAP.
"Everybody's collecting the data but not everyone knows what to do with it," Bailey told Pharmaceutical Online. "Our products offer a more comprehensive analysis from data you may already be collecting, to help you get more out of it. With the certification, companies that have already taken up the huge task of implementing SAP can work with our products as well." That includes any process industry, according to Bailey.

Meridium's Reliability Manager software module uses the historical maintenance data collected in SAP PM to analyze asset life, failure patterns and failure probability to calculate optimal preventive maintenance intervals. This analysis automatically generates notifications and quality measurements in SAP PM. This integration allows companies to define reliability and performance parameters and automatically generate a request for work in SAP PM when those parameters are exceeded.
The Meridium interface with SAP R/3 includes an Extraction, Transformation and Load (ETL) utility from SAP PM to Meridium's Registry that allows the ETL to extract equipment, functional location, notification and work order data from SAP PM. Meridium can then use this data for analysis and to generate the preventive maintenance work requests.
Seven-year-old Meridium specializes in enterprise reliability maintenance systems (ERMS) for asset-intensive process industries. Meridium's niche is petrochemicals, but they are also active in pulp and paper, power, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals.
