Meteor is a filter medium comprised of an extremely stable scrim constructed of a mineralic basalt.
Meteor is a filter medium comprised of an extremely stable scrim constructed of a mineralic basalt. The basalt scrim is then combined, via a needle punching process, with a top layer of fibers of polymers. The polymer selection is defined by the specific application requirements.

Advantages

  • Higher temperature endurance
  • Maximum mechanical stability
  • Excellent abrasion resistance
  • Spark resistance
  • Extreme chemical resistance

This filter media offers a viable option for demanding needlefelt filter fabric applications that would normally require a more costly PTFE-scrim.

Because the very dense Meteor scrim structure possesses extremely favorable mechanical attributes, there is no requirement to needle Meteor in both sides of the filtration fabric.

Meteor can be combined as a vital filter media construction element with the following polymers:

  • Aramid
  • PPS
  • Polyox
