Millipore Expands NovAseptic® Valve Product Offering With New 3-Inch Diaphragms

Millipore Corporation, a Life Science leader providing technologies, tools and services for bioscience research and biopharmaceutical manufacturing, recently announced the launch of EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber) diaphragms for 3-inch NovAseptic valves. This completes the EPDM diaphragm product offering, which are now available for all sizes of NovAseptic valves.

The flexible elastomeric properties of EPDM make the new diaphragm a robust solution for 3-inch valves in bioprocess production. The EPDM NovAseptic valve solution enables simple maintenance, and the innovative design ensures drainablility, minimizes deadleg, and makes the valves easy to sterilize-in-place. The valves are also cleanable-in-place as verified in tests based on European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group (EHEDG) procedure: there is no risk of cross-contamination.

In addition to EPDM, Millipore's extensive NovAseptic valve offering also includes silicone diaphragms and the unique PTFE valve solution for applications with extremely long service life requirements and need for chemically inert materials and high temperature resistance. The flexible modular valve platform, including manual and pneumatic actuators and a wide range of customized options, offers customer specific solutions for process, sampling and tank outlet valves in critical biopharmaceutical applications.
