NeoCore was founded in 1996. The company initiated its intellectual property development in 1996 and earned its first patent for its core technology, Digital Pattern Processing (DPP), in 1998. It has since been awarded several additional U.S. and foreign patents, and has a number of patents pending. NeoCore introduced its XML Information Server in October 2000. It manages metadata in exactly the same manner as previously possible only for the data component of information. This creates unlimited flexibility by removing any constraints on the use of dynamic data types. The XML Information Server is based on NeoCore's DPP technology, which generates icons for raw data and associates them with known patterns at millions of matches per second. NeoCore's DPP was named Best Technology Innovation at Celebrate Technology 2000!, a Colorado Springs-based conference on technology and entrepreneurial success.
