New Polystyrene Resins From Argonaut Technologies
Argonaut Technologies (San Carlos, CA) has expanded its resin offerings for solid-phase synthesis to include a new line of 1% crosslinked Poly (styrene-co-divinylbenzene) resins. With Argonaut's existing ArgoPore macroporous polystyrene and ArgoGel PEG-grafted polystyrene product lines, the new resins offer even greater choice in resin/linker combinations for parallel synthesis.

Polystyrene resins are cost-effective, offering high purity and high loading for many organic reactions. Total extractables are typically less than 0.2%. Chloromethyl (commonly known as "Merrifield" resin) and aminomethyl base resins are available with a loading range of 1.2-1.7 mmol/g and a bead size distribution of 100-200 mesh (75-150 microns). Linker products include Rink-NH-Fmoc, Wang, arylsulfonamide, 2- methoxy-4-alkoxy benzaldehyde and butyl diethylsilane.

Argonaut's polystyrene resins may be purchased individually in various quantities, pre-weighed in Argonaut's unique ArgoCaps (65 mg or 150 mg per capsule) or packaged in the Solid Phase Toolbox, which includes 10g quantities of all seven polystyrene resins along with information cards and a calibrated resin scoop for measuring.
