Round Rock, TX - A new stainless steel indicating temperature transmitter, designed for pharmaceutical, biotech and food & beverage applications, is being introduced by Weed Instrument of Round Rock, Texas.

The housing of the transmitter is constructed from 316L Stainless Steel and has no exposed threads. It is resistant to most of the cleaning chemicals typically found in pharmaceutical, biotech and food & beverage plants. Additionally, with its Nema 4X (IP67) environmental sealing and the ability to withstand ambient temperatures of up 158 °F (70 °C), the transmitter is suitable for most CIP applications.

The new transmitter features a 4 digit (-1999 to 9999), 7 segment LCD with visible dimensions of 1.31" x 0.52" (33.4 x 13.2 mm). The decimal point position is adjustable to 0, 1, 2 or 3 decimals. The process temperature can be configured for display in either °F or °C and the update of the readings is user-selectable between 0.25 to 2 seconds, according to the filter on the readings. Accuracy of the display is better that 0.1% of the programmed range, ± 1 digit. Set-up is simple and rapid via three keys mounted at the bottom of the display.

With a ½" NPT conduit entry, ½" NPT sensor connection and universal electronics, this new temperature transmitter can be used with virtually every type of RTD and Thermocouple. The transmitter has galvanic isolation, is 2-wire loop powered, and can be configured to provide a 4-20 mAdc, 20-4mAdc or 4-20 mAdc/HART signal output. Accuracy of the output signal is 0.08%.

The transmitter is CE compliant and has been tested for electromagnetic compatibility in accordance with EN 5008-1 and EN 5008-2.

Weed Instrument is one of the worlds leading suppliers of sanitary RTDs, Thermocouples, Thermowells and Temperature Transmitters to the pharmaceutical, biotech and food & beverage industries.
